The southern coast of the island of Cuba is the one that is most suitable for growing coffee, thanks to its humid climate and rich and flat soil. The places designated for coffee plantations from the very beginning were Sierra del Mayarin, Sierra de Guantanamo and Sierra Cristal where coffee is still grown today, but the largest production today comes from the Sierra Maestra mountain range. One of the most famous plantations in Cuba is Caffè La Isabelica located at 1150 m above sea level and a suggestive place to visit. Called simply cafecito in its homeland, Cuban coffee contains in a cup all the flavors and aromas of the land from which it comes. The surprising body of the Cuban Arabica blend also contains an intense aroma of tobacco and an aftertaste of caramel, hazelnut and cocoa.
